Radionuclides
We provide cyclotron and reactor produced radionuclides for research & medical use.
The Radionuclide Section provides a wide number of cyclotron and reactor produced radionuclides for research as well as for medical and technical applications. The Hevesy Laboratory operates multiple cyclotrons: two PETtrace 800, that provide proton beams of up to 16.5 MeV and deuteron beams of up to 8.4 MeV, one GENtrace and one experimental cyclotron, both providing proton beams of up to 7.8 MeV. In addition to that, reactor produced radionuclides are available by neutron irradiation of targets that take place at different reactors in Europe and the US. After the irradiation cycle at the reactor, the irradiated target material is returned to the Hevesy Laboratory where it is further processed for internal use or as final products for distribution to customers in Denmark and abroad.
